Memorial services for Jim Watt, 68, of Milford, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Visitation will begin on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 5 pm, with the family present from 5-7 pm, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.
James (Jim) Rex Watt was born on October 20, 1950 in Mason City, Iowa. He was the youngest son of Robert and Irene Korth Watt joining older siblings Norene and Steve. He spent his childhood on a farm near Dows, Iowa before moving to a farm near Armstrong, Iowa in 1963. He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1968 and continued his education by attending Sioux City Barber College.
On February 20, 1970 Jim married Wendy Buck in Clear Lake, Iowa. Their daughter Amy was born in 1971. In 1973 the family moved to Milford, Iowa and Jim began working at Style Craft. He worked there for 38 years until his retirement in 2011. After retiring Jim spent his time fishing, gardening, traveling, bicycling, walking, and enjoying people. He loved his family and friends especially his only grandson Colin.
Jim passed away on Friday November 23, 2018 at the Accura Healthcare in Milford at the age of 68 after battling prostate cancer.
He is survived by his wife Wendy, his daughter Amy (Jim) O'Connor, and grandson Colin O'Connor all of Milford; his brother Steve (Pat) Watt of Estherville and brother-in-law Marlin Wiarda of Hampton, Nebraska. He will be missed by nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.
