Jodien Gerdes Huisenga

Jodien Gerdes Huisenga was born August 2, 1962 in Windom, Minnesota , the daughter of Alfred A. and Marlene M. (Pick) Gerdes. At the age of three, the family moved to Milford , Iowa where Jodien graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Chip Huisenga on August 31, 1997 in Arnolds Park , Iowa . Jodien was blessed with two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. She worked as a secretary and enjoyed being a stay at home mother and caring for her girls. Jodien passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls , South Dakota at forty-seven years of age. She is survived by her husband, Chip; two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, all of Milford; parents, Alfred and Marlene Gerdes; mother-in-law, Wanda Dobberteen; brothers, Allen Gerdes and his wife Cathy of Garland Texas, Raymond Gerdes and his wife Ruth of Spirit Lake, Iowa; sisters, Cindy Schultz and her husband, Mark, of Holdrege, Nebraska, Mary Smith and her husband Joseph of Branford, Florida, Ruth Petrich and her husband, Kevin, of Graettinger, Iowa; grandmother, Delores Pick of Worthington, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herman and Birtha Gerdes; grandfather, Ernest Pick and one sister, Donna Hanson.
