Jordan C. Knudson, the son of Clarence and Halla (Dalluge) Knudson was born on June 10, 1921 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Jordan left school after eighth grade to help support his family and later obtained his G.E.D. and attended the Iowa Police Academy. He served his country from 1942-1946 during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946.
On August 31, 1941, Jordan was united in marriage to Mabel Lempke in Fairmont, Minnesota. He lived in Pelican Rapids, MN, Ringsted, Iowa, Fenton, Iowa, Truman, Minnesota and Hector, Minnesota before moving to Spirit Lake in 1971. He attended the Lutheran Church and was a member of the VFW. Jordan enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball and softball.
Jordan farmed, worked as an auto-mechanic, truck driver and was Chief of Police in Arnolds Park. Jordan worked as a janitor at the mall and enjoyed yard work and volunteering. He was always there to help people out and go the extra mile. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Jordan passed away March 13, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at eighty-eight years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel; sons, Donald (Lela) Knudson, Richard Knudson and Tim (Mona) Knudson; daughter, Susan (Ken) Lowe; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella Jellema and Yvonne Hansen; half brothers, Allen Knudson, Chris Knudson, Gail Knudson and Mark Knudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Halla; step-mother, Jean Knudson and one sister, Maxine Miller.
