Josephine Hamilton

A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Hamilton 88, of Milford will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Visitation will begin at church Saturday morning one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Josephine Theresia Hamilton, the daughter of Theresia (Ruml) and Joseph Bauer, was born March 6, 1929 in Carroll County. Josephine grew up on a farm west of Milford and graduated from St. Joseph School in 1946. She attended the Iowa State Teachers Extension summer school in Spencer and taught country school in Graettinger for two years. On December 30, 1948, Josephine married Albert Wittrock. After he passed away in 1976, Josephine was married to Marvin Hamilton from Spirit Lake in 1983. He later passed away in 2011. Josephine was a life long member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and enjoyed needlework and traveling. Josephine passed away January 2, 2018 at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at eighty-eight years of age. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews; special friends, Beverly Sporrer and Gary Wuebker. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Wittrock; husband, Marvin Hamilton and sister, Margaret Fairbanks.
