A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Faith Community Church in Milford, with interment at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Joyce M. Wilson, the daughter of Herschel and Vesta (Lamb) Salmon, was born September 23, 1929 in Milford, Iowa. She graduated from Milford High School in 1947 and later completed a course in secretarial training at Iowa Lakes Community College. On December 22, 1948, Joyce was married to Fred Halstead in Milford, Iowa. She worked as a secretary, teletype operator, waitress, grocery clerk and as a bookkeeper for eleven years at Lee Holt Motors in Spencer before retiring in 1995. Joyce moved back to Milford when she married Howard Wilson in 1989. With this marriage, they blended families. She enjoyed dancing, baking, playing cards and games, entertaining and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Joyce passed away December 20, 2018 at Accura Healthcare in Milford, Iowa at eighty-nine years of age. She is survived by her blended family, Sharon Reinert and her husband, Phil, Fred Halstead and his wife, Kylee, Darwin Wilson and his wife, Sandi and Duane Wilson and his wife, Lucinda; grandchildren, Tom Reinert (Laura), Nate Reinert (Christina), Evan Halstead, Haylee Halstead, Scott Wilson (Leslie), Steve Wilson (Marie), Krista (A.J. Rounds) and Chelsey (Ben Hoffman); ten great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Salmon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Halstead; second husband, Howard Wilson and a daughter, Janet Halstead.
