A funeral service for Judy Arens, age 71, of Arnolds Park, will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be in Remsen, Iowa. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 13th from 3:00-5:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Judith Evelyn Arens, the daughter of Joe and Evelyn (Schroder) Agena, was born April 8, 1947, in Sibley, Iowa. She attended Melvin high school and later in life was a financial planner and also received her cosmetology license. In 1973, Judy was married to Ray Cambier. After Ray's passing in 1989, Judy later married Jim Arens in 1992. They lived in Remsen, Iowa where Judy took care of the home and helped Jim on the farm. After Jim's passing, Judy moved to Okoboji in 2017. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Judy enjoyed golfing and was the club champion in Alton for thirteen years. She loved being outdoors whether it was helping on the farm, gardening or mowing. Her greatest joys were her grandkids and she loved spending time with them having tea parties, making hollyhocks dolls, attending sporting events, dance recitals and shopping. She spoiled them with love and all the sweet treats she could bake up. Judy passed away January 8, 2019 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at seventy-one years of age. She is survived by her children, Sue Brandon and her husband, Terry, of Denver, Iowa, Kurt Cambier and his wife, Jeannette, of Arvada, Colorado, Jeanne Den Hartog and her husband, John, of Hospers, Iowa, Tim Cambier and his wife, Julie, of Chandler, Arizona, Carla Engel and her husband, Devon, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Chris Arens of Remsen, Iowa, Deb Staab and her husband, Nick, of Remsen, Iowa and Jodi Smith and her husband, Kory, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and many friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; husband, Jim; one sister, Sue and two brothers, Terry and Jack.
