Karen Ahrenstorff

October 21, 1938 — February 5, 2022

A funeral service for Karen Ahrenstorff, age 83, of Lake Park will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley, Minnesota. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am at the church. Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.

Karen passed on February 5, 2022, at Windom Area Health in Windom, Minnesota.

Karen K. (Reimers) Ahrenstorff was born in Lake Park, IA on October 21, 1938 to Ernest & Mabel (Roarson) Reimers. She grew up on the family farm in Sioux Valley, MN and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1956.

She and Doug Ahrenstorff were united in marriage on September 7, 1958 in Lake Park, IA. They made their home in Sioux Valley where Karen was a homemaker and was “The Candy Lady” at Sathers Candy Company. Doug & Karen enjoyed fifteen years of retirement at their Round Lake cabin and wintering in Fort Mojave, AZ. Karen’s hobbies included gardening, hunting for asparagus, spending time at the lake, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles, watching Antiques Road Show and spending time with Family & Friends.

Karen is survived by her four children; daughter Jana (Bart) Mueller of Concordia, MO; sons, Neal (Cheryl) Ahrenstorff of Lakeville, MN, John (Emily) Ahrenstorff of Sioux Valley, MN and Kurt (Lisa) Ahrenstorff of Round Lake, MN; eleven grandchildren, Jill, Sam, Brett Mueller, Nicole (Jonathan) Foster, Haley, Jordan, Lucas, Mason, Zach, Jake and Kyle Ahrenstorff. Sister Marilyn Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, husband Doug and sister Ardis Liddle.
