Karen Lynne Fanth Arnold was born July 15, 1941 in Bettendorf, Iowa, the daughter of Reinhold and Helen (Schnoor) Fanth. After graduating high school in Bettendorf, Karen continued her education at St. Mary's Nursing School in Rochester, Minnesota and then at the University of Iowa School of Nursing.
On May 11, 1963, Karen was united in marriage to Cameron Bennnett Arnold in Iowa City, Iowa. The couple moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 1965.
Karen's career as an Liturgist spanned forty years, twenty at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake, and the last twenty at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. She kept active in church- life, participating in prayer groups and was a praise and worship leader. She was also a former president of Aglow Women's Fellowship.
Karen enjoyed working on her house, cross stitching and gardening. She also loved her dogs and cats. Above all, however, she loved the time spent with family and friends.
Karen passed away April 8, 2015 at her home in Spirit Lake, Iowa at seventy-three years of age.
She is survived by her three children, Margaret Beth Catherine Arnold, Christian Cameron Arnold and Charles Alanson Joseph Arnold.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cameron.
