Kathleen A. Colbert

Kathleen Ann Colbert departed this world on April 23, 2013. She was born on October 21, 1917, to Charles and Helen Wurm of St. Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence D. Colbert, M.D., who died on June 29, 1969. Kathleen graduated with a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Minnesota in 1939 and was a head nurse at Miller Hospital where she met Dr. Colbert, an intern at the time. They married in 1942 just before he was shipped overseas during WW II. Upon his return, the couple made their home in Royal, IA, raising their family. Kathleen is survived by her six loving children: Judith Colbert Straub of Farmington, CT; Michael Colbert, D.D.S. and Maureen of Tonka Bay, MN; Patrick Colbert, D.D.S., and Denise of Sioux Falls, SD; Dennis Colbert and Patti of Jacksonville, FL; James Colbert, D.D.S., and Pamela of Lake Park, MN; and Nancy Colbert Flory and David of Odessa, FL. Kathleen was the proud grandmother of Emily Straub; Benjamin Straub; Mackenzie Colbert; Jocelyn DeVille; Paul Colbert; Marc Colbert and Sean Colbert. A special joy in Kathleen's life was the connection with her three great-grandchildren Hannah, Harleigh and Preslie DeVille. Kathleen's four-legged Yorkie companion, Maggie, brought much happiness to her days. The family would like to especially thank their Mom's healthcare attendant and friend, Margie Tuttle of Milford.
