A memorial visitation for Larry "Thugo" Johnson, 52, of Spirit Lake will be held from 3 - 6 pm, Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at Sportsman's.
Thugo passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at a Sioux Falls, SD hospital.

Larry "Thugo" Leo Johnson, the son of Quintin and Grace (Hanson) Johnson was born September 19, 1964 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Thugo graduated from Spirit Lake High School. In 1983, Thugo was enlisted into the National Guard and served as Private, First Class, being honorably discharged in 1983.
On October 31, 2006, Thugo was united in marriage to Judy (Klepper) Johnson in Spirit Lake.
Thugo's favorite holiday was Halloween and had a love for animals throughout his life. He enjoyed gaming and hanging out with friends and family, so much that when he was younger, he would walk eighteen miles to town just to hang out with them.
Thugo passed away May 4, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at fifty-two years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson of Spirit Lake; sister, Linda Luchtel and several nieces and nephews.
Thugo was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Johnson and sister, Robin Johnson Reese-Wright.
