Larry "Toad" Eckman
April 20, 1961 — November 1, 2022
Celebration of Life Gathering for Larry "Toad" Eckman, age 61, of Milford will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.
Larry “Toad” Arthur Eckman, the son of Larry and Lois (Hurd) Eckman, was born on April 20, 1961. Toad would talk for hours about his younger years and the time he worked in Alaska… times where he lived with no worries or fear. He was at times stubborn, childlike, and irresponsible but he was loyal to a fault. He was the most faithful generous beautiful loving human being that walked this earth! He enjoyed taking his children to riverbeds and trails looking for whatever cool things they could find. He taught them survival and all about nature. He also loved shooting guns with them. He was an amazing carpenter and took great pride in the work he did for others and for his home.
He loved to go gambling with his love, Lisa, and spending time on the big, beautiful deck he built with his family, drinking beers, telling stories, and grilling. There was no way any of the people he loved ever doubted he would always love them unconditionally no matter what they did or said! All close to him learned from him how to do the same. We definitely are all better people because of him, and he will leave behind a gaping hole in this universe. No one has ever shown the never-ending unconditional love and support this many has not only shown to Lisa and his children but to her children that he claimed as his own as well! He was always who he was… nothing more, nothing less.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Bailey Eckman, Harley Eckman, Mariah Scherz, Austin Scherz, Oliver Eckman, Danika Frederick; life partner and true love, Lisa Daniels; parents, Larry and Lois Eckman; grandchildren: Aleah Scherz, Ivory Lamoureux, and coming soon, Bee Lucille Clemetine Wever; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Toad was preceded in death by his cousins: Bob Hurd, Randy Hurd, Linda Hurd, and all of his grandparents.
Toad passed away on November 1, 2022, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
