LaVerna Switzer Lee

LaVerna Switzer Lee was born July 4, 1915 in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Ida (Swanson) Lundquist. She was educated through the eighth grade and lived most of her life in the Spirit Lake area. On May 7, 1933, LaVerna was united in marriage to Vern Switzer in Spencer. Vern passed away May 29, 1976. She was later married to Maynard Lee on January 1, 1981 in Estherville, Iowa. Maynard passed away November 3, 1984. LaVerna's greatest love of life was her family, faith and friends. LaVerna passed away May 7, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-four years of age. She is survived by her two daughters, Lou Domek of Estherville, Iowa and Cindy Mac Donald of Fort White, Florida; one son, Merle Voight of Fenton, Iowa; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ardell Kabrick of Greely, Colorado. LaVerna was preceded in death by her husbands, Vern Switzer and Maynard Lee; son, Donald Switzer; daughters, Joanne Curtis and Norma Douglas; granddaughter, great-granddaughters; several brothers and sisters and many friends.
