Linda Laird

A memorial service for Linda Laird, age 76, of Spencer, will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Linda Lee Laird, the daughter of Josephine (Dunham) and Leroy West, was born February 2, 1942 in Marietta, Ohio. After graduating from Marietta High School, she attended College of Charleston. On May 25, 1963, Linda was married to John Franklin Laird, Jr. in Marietta, Ohio. Linda and her family lived in several places all over the world, including Scotland. After her husband, John, was discharged from the military, they resided in Ashtabula, Ohio and Sharpsville, Pennsylvania before moving to Spencer in 2015 to be closer to their children. Linda worked as a lab technician and enjoyed doing crafts. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Linda passed away August 8, 2018 at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa at seventy-six years of age. She is survived by two sons, John (Lori) Laird of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Brian (Sharon) Laird of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Jennifer Laird (Del Lord) of South China, Maine and Amy Laird of Spencer, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; granddaughter, Shania; nephew, Greg Laird.
