A funeral service for Linda Moore, 52, of Spencer, will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 2:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Linda Kay Moore was born November 20, 1959 in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond Wayne Stevens and Phyllis Arlene (Young) Decker. She graduated in 1978 from Spencer High School.
On July 11, 1987, Linda was united in marriage to James Myron Moore in Spencer, Iowa. She enjoyed several occupations serving the public, including: care facilities, public schools and waitressing.
Linda loved gardening, bird watching and cooking. She combined her passion for the holidays and cooking to always make holidays extra special. Her love for the holidays and her creativity evolved into a business that allowed her to share her passion with others. Nothing meant more to Linda than her family. She demonstrated this by quitting outside jobs to care for her mother.
Linda came into this world fighting for her life. Her precious life was cut short by lung cancer. During her last three years of her life, she renewed old friendships and started many new ones. She will be greatly missed by many. On November 9, 2012, Linda passed away at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa at fifty-two years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her mother, Phyllis Decker of Spencer; sister, Diana Stevens of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; brother, William Stevens of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; mother-in-law, Norma Moore of Riceville, Iowa; niece, Mrs. Cassandra (Larry) Yartz of Everly, Iowa; nephew, Wesley Stevens of Graettinger, Iowa; great-niece, Felina; uncle, Larry Young of Urbandale, Iowa and several cousins, in-laws and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Stevens; both maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, M.J. Moore; two aunts and two uncles.
