A memorial service for Lisa Hesebeck, age 58, of Lake Park, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ewington Township, Minnesota (78396 340th Ave, Worthington, MN). Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lisa Lynn (Janssen) Hesebeck, born on December 14, 1965, in St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, on June 29, 2024, at fifty-eight years of age.

Lisa, aka “Little Lisa Lynn”, spent her earliest years in St. James, Mn. then moved home to the Janssen Farm in Rural Worthington at age 7. She was a student at Heron Lake – Okabena Schools. She attended and was Confirmed as a member of Grace Lutheran Church which was built on a corner of farmland donated by her Great Great Grandpa Janssen.

Lisa enlisted in the US Air Force and attended AF Boot camp, at Lackland AFB in Lakeland, TX. (however was unable to continue her service due to health reasons.)

Lisa returned home and began working at Sather Co. in Round Lake. It was there that she met her husband, Steven Hesebeck. They were united in marriage on October 23, 1993, at Grace Lutheran Church in rural Worthington, Minnesota.

Lisa began her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed time with Steve, their families, and their beloved dog, Buddy who she trained to do many fun tricks! Also, Dr. Pepper, playing cards, Nascar, and camping at Cutty’s Resort in Okoboji.

In 1997, she courageously faced a diagnosis of Myotonic Dystrophy. She fought this long battle with a positive attitude and a persistent smile. Rarely a complaint.

Lisa dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a CNA. A calling she truly enjoyed until her health no longer allowed. She did not give up. She worked where she Could, at Hy-Vee and Subway as long as she was able.

Lisa is continuing to help others with her gift of organ donation.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Steven Hesebeck of Harris, IA; father, Terry Janssen of Worthington, MN; mother, Dianne (Brian) Ihnen of Lake Park, IA; siblings Trelonnie (Ryan) Hennings of Brewster, MN; Troy (Dawn) Janssen of Eagle Lake, MN; Tiffany Mandelkow of Lake Park, IA; Tonya (Tanse) Herrmann of Sturgis, SD; mother-in-law, Lola Hesebeck of Ocheyedan, IA; brother-in-law, Sherwin (Paula) Hesebeck of Sheldon, IA; sister-in-law, Sherry (Keith) Rueter of Memphis, TN.
