Lois Kuehl Untiedt

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:30am at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 5:00-7:00pm at the church. Lois Kuehl Untiedt was born September 7, 1924 in Lake Park, Iowa to Hans and Frieda (Wunder) Jansen. Lois graduated from Lake Park High School. On April 10, 1943, she was married to Leroy Kuehl. Leroy passed away in December of 1968. Lois married Allan Untiedt on August 5, 1973. Lois loved the Sioux Valley community farm life. She enjoyed cooking and baking and having delicious treats available for family and friends. Lois was a lifetime member of the Lake Park Presbyterian Church. She was a Charter member of the Sioux Valley Legion Auxiliary and Sioux Valley Nurses Auxiliary. Lois was also a member of the Presbyterian Women's Club and Eastern Star. She loved to golf and received many golfing awards. She was also an accomplished quilter, cross stitcher and she loved gardening and watching birds. Another favorite past time was watching the Minnesota Twins. Lois passed away at her home on April 10, 2014 at the age of eighty-nine. Lois is survived by children, Karen (Bill) Koenig of Bloomington, MN, Ken (Kate) Kuehl of Redwood Falls, MN, Kayle (Shawn) Kuehl of Spirit Lake, IA, Kathy (Jim) Ehret of Stilwell, KS, and Kris Dean (Jeff) Kruger of Lake Park, IA; step-daughter, Christie (John) Woods of Lake Park, IA; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Earl of Colorado, and sister Bertha of California. Preceding Lois in death were her parents; husbands, Leroy and Allan; three brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
