Lori Lambert

August 22, 1949 — June 22, 2024

Lorenda (Lori) Lee Lambert, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024. Lori loved God, her family, and music. Lori was born to Ray (Corky) and Anna Miller. She grew up in Isle, MN and was the oldest of 6 siblings. After graduating high school, Lori joined God’s Invasion Army (GIA) which was part of the Baptist General Conference. While in Seattle with GIA, she met Gary Lambert Sr. and they were married the next year. Gary knew it was love the moment he saw her. They have lived in many places, but spent over 25 years in Cambridge, MN where Gary was the Chief of Police. Lori worked as a clerk at the local Bible bookstore, helped out at the jail, but especially loved being a wife and a mother to their two children, Wendy and Gary Jr.

Lori had a beautiful voice and was often heard singing along to the Christian music she’d have playing in her kitchen. She was a devoted grandma to 6 grandchildren, often staying and helping as new babies were born or having the grandkids come up to Isle to hang with Grandma and Grandpa. Gary Sr and Lori moved to Milford, IA in 2010 to be close to Gary Jr and his family. In 2014, Lori suffered a stroke. Gary Sr devoted his every moment to taking care of Lori in their home until 2022 when she entered a nursing home. Gary Sr continued his devotion by arriving every morning by 6 am to help wake Lori, feed her every meal, spend the day with her, and return home only to sleep. It was a beautiful example of commitment to their vows and how they rarely spent time apart in their 54 years of marriage.

Lori is survived by her loving husband Gary Sr of Milford, IA; her daughter Wendy Lambert Gordy (Jeff) of Forest Lake, MN; her son Gary Jr (Linnea) of Milford, IA; her mother Anna Miller of Isle, MN; her brothers Greg, Mike, Jerry, Clyde, Stan and their families; and her sister Virgie and her family. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren that adored her: David Gordy (Carly), Hannah Gordy Anenson (James), Zach Gordy (McKenna), Abbie Gordy, Carter Lambert, Maddison Lambert. Lori is preceded in death by her father, Ray (Corky) Miller.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at Opstead Church in Isle, MN in August. Condolences may be sent to Gary Lambert Sr, 3200 Okoboji Ave, Lot 86 in Milford, IA 51351.

Lori loved her Savior with all her heart, and her family's desire is for others to know and love God. Her favorite scripture was 1 John 3:18 “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
