A memorial service for Enie Booton, of Arnolds Park, will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Good News Community Church in Okoboji. Visitation will begin at 2 pm until service time at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji. Following interment, there will be a Celebration Gathering at Emerald Hills Golf Course in Arnolds Park.
Those in attendance are strongly encourage to wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, memorials given to the family will be donated to Enie's favorite charities.
Enie Booton, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Harmelink, was born on November 1, 1937 in Sioux County, Iowa. At an early age, Enie moved to Jackson, Minnesota where she graduated high school.
On November 28, 1959, Enie was united in marriage to Ron Booton in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They made their home in Milford until moving to Arnolds Park, Iowa in 1998. Enie worked as a bank teller at First Bank & Trust for forty years, where she made lifelong friends. She was a member of the Good News Community Church in Okoboji.
Ron and Enie were honored as Grand Marshals in the 2006 Pioneer Days Parade. In her free time, Enie enjoyed playing bingo (back in the day), sitting on her deck looking at the lake and spending time with family. Grandma Enie’s greatest joy were her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events.
Enie passed away May 4, 2021 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa at eighty-three years of age.
She is survived by her son, Kirby (Angie) Booton of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; daughter, Kristi (Jim) O’Neill of Delano, Minnesota; sister, Bev Tischler of Jackson, Minnesota; grandchildren, Natalie (Sam) Taylor; Haley (Thayne) McElhinney, Riley (Lindsy) Larson, Keegan, Terron and Kallon O’Neill; great-grandchildren, Bowen and Jackson Taylor, Cayden, Nolen and Graysen Larson.
Enie was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Booton; parents, Joe and Bertha Harmelink; brother, Jerry Harmelink and sister, Edna Bezdicek.
