Lorraine J. Warburton

A funeral service for Lorraine Warburton, age 93, of Milford, will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 23rd after 3:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Lorraine James Warburton, the son of Ruby (Solberg) and Frank Warburton, arrived May 9, 1923 in Milford, Iowa. He attended a Milford country school. On February 21, 1952, Lorraine was united in marriage to Melba Faye Eckard. After they married, they farmed west of Terril and later moved northwest of Milford. In 1958, they moved to the farm where they resided until they retired in 1985. Lorraine and Melba attended the Little Sioux Lutheran Church in rural Milford until it closed in 2010. They attended the First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He liked making trips to the Milford elevator for coffee and farm talk. Lorraine served in Korea during the Korean War. He drove a school bus for many years and served on the church board at Little Sioux. Lorraine was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Lorraine passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Hawkeye Care Center in Milford, Iowa at ninety-three years of age. He is survived by three sons, Jim (Ann) Warburton, Joe (Steven) Warburton and Scott (Carolyn) Warburton; grandchildren, Mike (Jessie), David (Britni), Brandon, Katelyn, Sam and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Ella and Kinleigh and many other family and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by his wife, Melba in July 2015 and his parents.
