A funeral service for Louise Ballah, 84, Terril will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril. Visitation for Louise will begin after 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.
Louise Victorean Ballah, the daughter of Victor and Marie (Jensen) Hanson was born on June 18, 1935 in Ruthven, Iowa. Louise graduated high school there and as a sophomore was voted Ruthven High School's first Homecoming Queen in 1951.
On April 25, 1954, Louise married James L. Ballah, and they spent the majority of their lives together on the family farm north of Terril. Louise loved being a farmer's wife. She was always prepared at a moment's notice to move a wagon, run for parts or to pick someone up at the North Crib. And you could always count on a 4-course meal every time you sat at her dinner table.
Jim and Louise did everything together with only fields of grain separating them. They enjoyed traveling the country and would pack their "cardboard boxes" (instead of luggage like most people) calling the kids and just telling them they were headed south this time and that they would be home "sometime." Louise also enjoyed birds, painting, and working in her flower garden. She enjoyed her neighborhood clubs, church groups, and meeting her friends for quilting or coffee. Above all, Louise's greatest gift was her unconditional love, support, and generosity for her children and grandchildren throughout her life.
Louise was called Home by our Heavenly Father on July 1, 2019 at the age of eighty-four.
Here to miss her laughter, yet cherish her memory are her sister, Carol Villella, sister-in-law, Carolyn Gelenter, her children Sheri Boldon, Lori Ballah, and Dan (Linda) Ballah: grandchildren, Russ (Amy) Billings, Patty (Adam) Koester, Matt Feldman, Brooke (Jesse) Nitchals, and Nicole and Jamie Ballah; six great-grandchildren, special friend, Jerry Zelinsky, and her nieces, nephews, and friends.
Today she rejoices in Heaven alongside her beloved husband, Jim, her parents, and sister-in-law, Alice Ballah.
