Lowell "Bud" M. Schroeder was born March 11, 1932 in Carroll, Iowa the son of Joseph and Ceil Schroeder. He was raised and educated in Carroll, where he graduated from high school. Bud entered the US Army, serving during the Korean War until receiving his honorable discharge. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked for the Metropolitan Utilities District for thirty-nine years.
August 10, 1957, Bud was united in marriage to Mary Lou Roth on August 10, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Omaha, where they raised their daughters, Lynn and Laurie. Upon retirement in 1994, the couple moved to the Lakes area.
Bud was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed taking bus trips, walking and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Bud passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at his home in Milford, at seventy-six years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; daughters, Lynn Koperski, her husband Steve, and their children Valerie and Faye, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Laurie Baratta, her husband Dave, and their children, Bethany, D.J., Brandon and Sammy of Papillion, Nebraska. Also surviving are brother, Earl Schroeder; sisters Maxine Listwan, Lois Schout (Bud's twin), Ruth Ann Barrett and Diane Brincks; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Janet Kramer and brother, LeRoy Schroeder.
