Loyce Braband

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 2:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30th after 5:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Loyce Ethel Braband was born July 2, 1928 in Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Edith (Ramsey) Lamack. She was raised and educated in rural Estherville, Iowa. Loyce was united in marriage to James H. Braband on February 22, 1953 in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple made their home near Lakefield, Minnesota before moving to rural Spirit Lake in 1974, where the couple farmed. Loyce was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Spirit Lake, where she was active in Ladies Aide (LWML). She was extremely proud to be a homemaker, farmwife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling, playing cards, volunteering and quilting. Loyce always needed to be busy, her children always called her the Energizer Bunny, as she had more energy than they did. She loved to laugh and socialize with family and friends. Loyce passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at eighty-five years of age. She is survived by her children, Roxanne Braband and her husband Larry Gondert of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Valerie Franek and her husband Frank of Lake Park and Ray Braband and his wife Deirdre of Spirit Lake; grandchildren, Jason Shaver and his wife, Michelle, Ashley Braband, Wade Franek, Sheila Franek and Abbey Braband; great-grandchildren, Carson Shaver, Makayla Shaver and Adam Genschorck. Also surviving are her brother, Maynard Lamack and his wife, Fern; and sister-in-law, Donna Braband. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Braband, brothers Donald and Arnold Lamack, infant sister, Lola, brother-in-law Bernard and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lucille and Jack Horn.
