Lucille Edna Rush, age 90, was reunited with Les, the love of her life, on June 4th, 2017, when she passed from this life at Hawkeye Care Center in Spirit Lake.
Born on June 15th, 1926, in Ceylon, Minnesota, to Mary (Hass) and Charles Habben, Lucille graduated from Lake Park High School in 1944 and married Les on August 5th of that same year. They shared their whole lives together in Lake Park and their union welcomed five wonderful girls. Lucille cared for her home and her family, but she also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and birthday club with her friends.
Lucille was active in a number of organizations, including the Excelsior Women's Club, Farm Bureau, the United Methodist Church and the United Federated Women's Club, where she served as its president for a time. Anyone who knew Lucille would immediately characterize her as a vibrant and quick-witted woman who loved bright fashion and singing.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 15th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Lake Park, and a memorial celebration for Lucille will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church in Lake Park. In Lucille's spirit, her family requests attendees dress colorfully. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Linda Flippen of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Lana Borland of Sioux City, Iowa, LaDean (Wayne) Untiedt of Lake Park, Iowa, Leah (Darcy) Voehl of Prior Lake, Minnesota and Lora Milne of Madison, South Dakota; sister, Norma Anderson of Tigard, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Les Rush, and five sisters.
