Mabel Emma Knudson was born April 30, 1920 in Ringsted, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Torkelson) Lempke. She was raised and educated in Ringsted, graduating in 1938.
On August 31, 1941, Mabel was united in marriage to Jordon Knudson in Fairmont, Minnesota. The couple lived in Ringsted, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, Fenton, Iowa, Truman, Minnesota and Hector, Minnesota before making their home in Spirit Lake.
Mable was a homemaker and a sales representative for Avon for several years. She won numerous sales awards and was a member of the President's Club. Along with Jordon, she enjoyed volunteering. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mable passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at ninety-two years of age.
She is survived by her children, Donald Knudson (Lela) of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Richard Knudson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Susan Lowe (Ken) of Buckeye, Arizona and Tim Knudson (Mona) of Milford, Iowa. She is also survived by a sister, Viola Douglas of Fenton, Iowa; grandchildren, Nik Knudson, Barry Knudson, Jared Knudson, Brittney Hanson, Brayden Knudsen, Brigitte Reinig, Brady Reinig, Adam Klepper and Andrew Klepper; nine great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jordan, sisters Eleanor Speck and Alice Hanson.
