A funeral service will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Milford. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 20th after 4:00pm with the family present from 4:00-7:00pm. There will be a Rosary at 6:00pm followed by a Scripture Service.
Mardella T. Roth was born August 15, 1927 at Breda, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Geier) Meister. Mardella was raised and educated in Breda, Iowa, graduating from St. Bernards Catholic School.
Mardella was united in marriage to Linus Roth on October 7, 1946 in Breda. The couple lived in Carroll, Iowa and Nixa, Missouri, until moving to Okoboji in 1991. She worked at Ocoma Foods in Carroll, and waitressed at several different restaurants.
Mardella was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. She enjoyed polka dancing and attending auctions. She also enjoyed going to casinos, word search puzzles and telling jokes.
Mardella passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2012 at Milford Nursing Center in Milford, at eighty-five years of age.
She is survived by her children, James Roth of Milford and his fiancé, Bonnie Beyerink, of Westside, Iowa, Bonnie Heim of Okoboji and Beverly Brown and her husband Lee, of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters, four sisters-in-law, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amy Brown, daughter-in-law Renae Roth, brother Darwin Meister, husband, Linus Roth, infant grandson, Frank Roth and her parents, Fred and Emma Meister.
