Margaret Fairbanks

Mrs. Margaret Fairbanks, 78, of Crescent, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at her home in Crescent. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Interment: Calvary Cemetery in Milford. Visitation: 9 am Monday until service time at the church Margaret Fairbanks of Crescent, IA went home to be with the Lord June 12, 2013 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Margaret was born to Joseph and Theresisa Bauer at Coon Rapids, IA on June 23, 1934. She married Stanley Fairbanks on June 20, 1951 at Camp Arterbury, Indiana and to this union four children were born. Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed time on their farm outside of Crescent where she tended to many crops and sold at roadside stands during the family's younger years. Margaret went on to work at the US Postal Service as a rural carrier until her retirement. She enjoyed being a mother, gardening and genealogy. She is a member of the Catholic Church. Margaret is survived by her husband, Stanley Fairbanks; sister, Josephine (Bauer - Wittrock) Hamilton of Milford, IA; children, Jon (Bridgitte) Fairbanks of Germany; David (Wendy) Fairbanks of Council Bluffs, IA; Patti (Dan) Dickerson of Phoenix, AZ; Joe (Celeste) Fairbanks of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Alec Fairbanks, Adelicia Fairbanks, Patricia Fairbanks, Mallory Fairbanks, Ryan Anderson and Matt Anderson. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.
