Marie Daggett

Marie Daggett was born on November 29, 1919 near Sanborn, Iowa to Albert and Etta (Pietens) Kuiper. She was baptized in the First Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn, Iowa on December 28, 1919. She attended school there through the grades. On December 14, 1937, Marie was united in marriage to Wilbur Daggett in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Over the years they lived in the Hartley, Ocheyedan, Harris and Lake Park areas where they farmed and raised their family of six children. In July 1975, Wilbur passed away. Marie then moved to Lake Park with their son, Rodney. After a lingering illness, Rodney passed away in October, 1995. Marie remained in her home, caring for her many flowers, until it became necessary for her to enter the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake in March, 2005. It was there that she passed away on October 3, 2009 at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 4 days. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lake Park, Iowa. She is survived by three sons: Dennis and wife Adela of Sarasota, FL, Dale and wife Rita of Apple Valley, MN and Ron and wife Bobbe of Prior Lake, MN; two daughters: Elaine and husband Robert Mayden of Windom, MN and Barb Paul of Spring Valley, MN; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Louis and wife Katherine of Sioux Center, IA; brothers-in-law: Daryle Daggett and wife Violet, Gary Daggett and wife Lavonne; sisters-in-law: Hazel Kuiper, Caroline Kuiper, Letty Daggett, all of Sanborn, IA, Dorothy Daggett Perry of South Fork, CO and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur, son Rodney, son-in-law Terry Paul, four brothers: Clarence, Bert, Carl, Tony and also two siblings in infancy.
