Marjorie Bever

A funeral service for Marjorie Bever, age 91, of Milford, will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10:30am at Union Memorial Church in Milford. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Marjorie Ellen Bever was born May 25, 1923 in Milford, Iowa to Alfred and Nora (Brown) Dagfinson. She lived her entire life in Milford with the exception of a number of winters in Texas. She attended school in Milford and graduated from the Okoboji Consolidated School in May, 1940. She married Rex Bever in Jackson, Minnesota on July 16, 1942 when he was home on leave during WWII. Two sons were born, Rex Jr. in 1946 and Tim Bever in 1950. She was a lifetime member of Union Memorial Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 65 years. She was a charter member of "The Spirit of Harmony" Sweet Adelines group. Marge enjoyed playing cards and all kinds of music, but most of all she enjoyed her home and family. Marjorie passed away October 23, 2014 at the Milford Nursing Center at ninety-one years of age. She was preceded in death by her son, Rex Jr. in 1971; husband, Rex Sr. in 1998; her parents; sister, Dora Gottsche; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Gottsche, James Lauck, Sr. Forrest Adams, Blair Bever and Ruby Schoorman. She is survived by her son, Tim (Polly) Bever; grandson, Nathan Bever of Sheldon; granddaughter, Amy (Bryan) English of Altoona, Iowa and great grandsons, Wyatt, Isaac and Burchon English; sisters, Ada Lauck and Lois Adams both of Spencer; sister-in-law, Shirley Schoorman and family of Milford; nephew, Dave Gottsche and family.
