Marvin Thomas

Marvin "Roy" Thomas, 93 of Spirit Lake, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Lakes Regional Hospital. Born November 29, 1914 in Oskaloosa, he was the youngest of nine children. He moved to Des Moines in 1923 and graduated from East High School in 1933. Three years later he married Maxine Ferris. He spent his working career selling business and printing equipment. He made the move to Spirit Lake in 2003 to be near his daughter. Marvin is survived by daughter Karol Larsen; grandchildren Pam (Bob) Mally and Tammy McQuerry (Ray); great-grandchildren Jeremy (Amanda) Mally, Erica McQuerry, Erin McQuerry; great-great- grandchildren Kaliyah and Chyler; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, four brothers, four sisters, son-in-law, Harold Larsen and grandson, Michael Scott Larsen.
