Mary Delaney

Mrs. Delaney, 77, of Milford, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013, at Longhouse Care Center in Spencer, Iowa. Mary Coletta Delaney was born September 4, 1935 to Frank and Mildred (Ruba) Schierholt in LeMars, Iowa. She attended Excelsior School and married Terry Delaney on June 4, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa. They were blessed with six children. Mary was a homemaker and worked at Pure Fishing. Mary spent her childhood in Lake Park and after she was married resided in rural Lake Park and later Milford, Iowa. Mary was a member of Catholic Daughters and was very active in church activities. She enjoyed gardening, church, her family, making rosaries and spending time with her friends. Survivors are her sons, John (Patty) Delaney of Lake Park, Iowa, Paul (Tammy) Delaney of Lake Park, Iowa, Jim Delaney of Albia, Iowa; daughter, Ann Delaney of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Delaney of Ames, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry; brother, Frank Schierholt; sons, Steve and Mike Delaney. Services: Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. Visitation: Tuesday, August 27, 2013 after 5 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford, Iowa with Catholic Daughters Rosary at 6:30 pm immediately followed by the Parish Vigil Service. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Milford, Iowa
