Matthew Allen Schierholt

Matthew was born May 20, 1979 to Deb and Frank (Butch) Schierholt in Sibley, Iowa. The family resided in Lake Park, Iowa. Matthew, along with his mother and sister, moved to Spencer, IA in 1985 where he attended the Spencer school system. In 1992 they moved to rural Valley Springs, SD. Matt graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1998. He served three years in the Army then graduated from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls with a mechanical degree. Matt spent the last few years working for Raven Industries in Sioux Falls. Matthew had a special love for his nephew, Kade, enjoyed golf, had a special passion working on his vehicles and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Deb and step-father, Jeff Albert of Valley Spring, SD; sister, Christina and her husband, Travis Longelin and nephew, Kade of Sioux Falls, SD; grandparents, Darrell and Jan Sathren of Lake Park; grandparents, Frank Jr. and Becky Schierholt of Lake Park; step-grandparents, Kenny and Florence Albert of Sioux Falls, SD; great grandma, Velda Joens of Lake Park and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank (Butch) Schierholt.
