Melba Ruth Alborn was born August 28, 1925 in Stuart, Iowa.
On September 30, 1942, Melba was united in marriage to Gerald E. Alborn in Dayton, Ohio. The family lived in Perry, Iowa until moving to Arnolds Park, Iowa in 1983. Melba was a homemaker and helped Gerald on the farm. After Gerald passed away in 1999, Melba moved to Homestead in Spirit Lake. She enjoyed sewing and fishing. Melba attended the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
Melba passed away on March 27, 2009 at the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-three years of age.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne and her son, Dean Alborn and his wife, Gloria; grandchildren, Aric and Aron Alborn; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Maya, Samuel and Angelena Alborn; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald and thirteen siblings.
