Mike Welle

Michael Lynn Welle was born August 15, 1951 to Lester D. and Pearl E. (Arms) Welle at the Welle farm southwest of Milford, Iowa. Mike was the youngest of eleven silblings. He received his early education at Okoboji Township Consolidated School and graduated in 1969 from Milford Community High School. He was united in marriage to Marcia S. Wells on March 7, 1981 at the Welle farm. Mike and Marcia moved to Wells family farm in September of 1984 where they resided for twenty-six years. Mike worked a variety of jobs including, dock building, construction, factory work, tree work and grounds and maintenance. His favorite occupation was being a Winnebago driver and his favorite place to go was Alaska. Mike took to horses at a very young age following in his father's footsteps. He loved the outdoors and spent many years riding horses with his wife, Marcia. His love for animals, the horses, dogs and cats gave him and his wife many years of joy and comfort. Mike passed away May 14, 2010 at his home in rural Spirit Lake, Iowa at fifty-eight years of age. Mike is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Marcia Welle; three sisters, seven brothers and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Pearl Welle.
