A funeral service for Mildred Eggimann, 96, of Jackson, Minnesota, will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:30pm at Crosswinds Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Mildred A. Eggimann was born April 7, 1925 in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of George A. and Luella (Hausfeld) Rieken. She received her education in the Jackson Public Schools, St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN.
Mildred worked as a nurse in the Halloran Hospital and as a volunteer worker at The Good Samaritan Home. She was a member of the Jackson/Cottonwood Gideon Auxiliary.
Mildred was united in marriage to Richard W. Eggimann on May 26, 1947 at Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson. They lived and farmed on the Eggimann family farm in Middletown Township all of their lives.
Mildred and Richard were active members of Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota and later, Faith Evangelical Free Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Mildred loved music and was privileged to serve as organist for the Salem Lutheran Church and Faith Evangelical Free Church for many years. She also participated in many church and community musical events. Mildred found great pleasure giving others a glimpse of God through music.
Mildred passed away July 31, 2021 at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety-six years of age.
Survivors include three sons, Mark (Shirley) of Jackson, MN, Thomas (Kathy) of Hutchinson, MN and Peter (Kim) of Hastings, MN; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Luella Jones of Fairmont, MN.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her parents.
