Always there with a laugh and smile - to remind you life is not always serious! She was born Milford Jorgensen, October 28, 1913 in North Dakota. October 2, 1932, she wed Wilbur Snook and moved to Iowa. Three sons - Jim, Jay and David brightened her life.
I always knew she cared - to nourish, protect and help others. but, she also was no one to mess with if things were not as they should be. "Kick-ass" card player according to Grandson Justin. Mildred wrote many letters written in correspondence with various friends, relatives and especially great-granddaughters. Never would a day pass that she didn't socialize and reflect with others, spreading sunshine!! To all who knew her - Mildred touched hearts and had close ties to the creator.
I am thankful for knowing her - blessed to have shared many hours of "murder" and multiple card games. Afghans, mittens, hats and oh those slippers were her signature to remind the receiver of hours spent thinking of the wearer. Baking "Dunkers" - a family cookie recipe passed down to the generations are still putting a smile on faces.
Love is a verb and meant to be shared - between family members and those close-tied. "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Luke 12:34. Her heart was led to care for others and bring life to the world around her - feeding His sheep! Thanks Grandma - I love you and will miss you! Tammy Hesser (granddaughter)
Brother Herbert Jorgensen and sister Marion Hall; sons, Jim and Jay Snook as well as several grand and great-grandchildren survive Mildred Snook.
