Mildred O. Thompson, the daughter of Ben and Lena (Birkland) Benson was born June 21, 1910 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
On January 1, 1930 Mildred was married to Tenis Thompson in Ruthven, Iowa. In 1949 they moved to Arnolds Park where Tenis operated the Phillips 66 station. After Tenis' death, Mildred married Harold Justice in February of 1980. He was a retired farmer.
Mildred was an amazing woman and was loved by all. She always had a cheerful smile and was the eternal optimist. She loved her family, her friends, her Lord and her church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Phase 10 and traveling.
Mildred passed away on January 27, 2009 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at ninety-eight years of age.
Surviving are her son, Jerry (Marilyne) Thompson and her daughter, Judy (Joe) Sanders; one sister, Verna Hawkinson; grandchildren, Cindy Gibson, Cheri Falcone, Terry Thompson, Gary Thompson, Jodi Smith, and James Sanders; nine great-grandchildren and two great- grandchildren;. She is also survived by Harold's family, JoAnn, Irma, Sandy, Don, Jim, Ray and Philip, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Mildred in death were her husbands, Tenis and Harold; sister, Ethel Golla; brothers, Virgil, Lyle, Lowell and Joseph and Harold's daughter, Nancy Bach.
