Milton W. G. Jergensen was born to Benny and Josephine Bendixon Jergensen on January 27, 1917 at Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1935.
He was united in marriage to Doris Tritle on April 29, 1939 at Storm Lake, Iowa. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake before moving to Royal, Iowa in 1942. They also lived in Los Angeles for a year before moving back to Spirit Lake.
Milton was a printer and worked for Hamilton Printing in Spirit Lake. He was employed at Spirit Lake Beacon for 15 years before retiring in 1979.
Milton was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served on various committees, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He was also a past member of Kiwanis and was an installer for Life Line. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking and working on his computer.
Milton died Thursday, July 31 at Lakes Regional Healthcare.
Surviving are his daughter, Pat Andersen and her husband, Tony, of Spirit Lake and their sons, Travis, wife Anna, and their daughters, Emma and Haley, of Sheboygan, WI, and Joel, wife Clare, and their children Grady, Scarlett and Vivien of Minneapolis, MN; son-in-law, Ross Jahn of Spirit Lake and his sons, Jeff, wife Kelly, and their children Kaitlin and Derek of Westerville, OH and Chris and Melanie of Sioux Falls, SD.
Preceding Milton in death were his wife, Doris, daughter, Judy and son, Jon.
