A graveside service for Mitchell Foster, age 55, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Spirit Lake, will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:30AM at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji.
Mitchell Lee Foster, the son of Mary Lou (Larrimer) and Verlyn Foster, was born November 16, 1964 in San Fernando, California. He was raised and educated in Fairbury, Nebraska and later received his Associates Degree. Mitchell was married to Andrea Alarcon in 1986 in Fairbury and later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1996.
His favorite thing to do was ride his motorcycle. When the weather permitted it didn’t matter if he was in town or traveling to another state, he traveled everywhere by motorcycle. He liked to ride four wheelers and loved his dog, Louie, who went everywhere with him. He put up a fence because he was worried about Louie being outside and another dog possibly being loose and getting Louie. Louie thought he was a big dog because Mitchell always told Louie that he was big even though Louie is a miniature.
Mitchell worked as a contractor and did many trades including laying concrete, building houses and carpentry. He fixed cars, remodeled homes and snowplowed for businesses in the winter. If something needed to be built or fixed, Mitchell could do it!
Mitchell passed away April 1, 2020 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at fifty-five years of age as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Foster; two daughters, Denise McKnight (husband, Adam) and Roxanne Clark; one son, Jared Foster (wife, Jordan); grandchildren, Payton Bernard, Pierse Bernard, Addison McKnight, Ethan Clark, Benton Foster and Brooks Foster (girlfriend, Rhonda L. Rauenhorst); one sister, Julie Huffman (husband, Mike) and one brother, Michael Foster; niece, Jamie Chambers and nephews, John Ayers.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Verlyn (Frosty) Foster.
