Nancy Blair

Mrs. Nancy Blair, 91, of Lake Park, Iowa passed away July 11, 2013 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Memorial services will be Thursday, September 12, 2013 at United Methodist Church in Lake Park. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.Nancy Nilsen Blair was born in Bergen, Norway on May 29, 1922 to Agnes and Ingval Nilsen. She lived in Chicago and Estherville before moving to Lake Park where she spent most of her life. She was married to John Irvie Blair on Sept. 17, 1942 in Jacksonville, Fla. John was deployed to Europe the following day and Nancy returned to Lake Park to wait three years for his return from service. John and Nancy were the parents to five children; Gary, Suzanne, John I., Marilee, and Billie. Nancy loved to spend time with her family, especially vacationing with them in Colorado, Branson, Mo., Lake of the Ozarks, Arizona, California, and Minnesota. She loved playing cards, shopping, fishing, and was an excellent cook. Her family will remember her beautiful blue eyes and her quick smile. Nancy had been living in Fort Collins, Colo. the past year with her daughters, Marilee and Billie, where she passed away after a brief illness. She was 91 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her sons, Gary and John I. and her daughter, Suzanne. She leaves behind her daughters, Marilee and Billie and many grandchildren.
