Nancy Bockman

A funeral service for Nancy Bockman, age 69, of Milford, will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:00am at Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church in Milford. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26th from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Nancy Bockman was born October 9, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was adopted by John and Bonnie Vance and was raised and educated in Milford, graduating from Milford High School in 1963. Nancy then attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux City, Iowa, graduating from there in 1964. Nancy was married to Terry Bockman in 1970 until 1999. She had worked at Milford Electric, Midge's Restaurant as well as the Birdhouse Cafe. Nancy loved animals, and donated many hours to the Humane Society. She knew that animals understood you when you talked to them. Nancy also loved helping people out and was a Girl Scout Leader from 1986 - 1992. She especially enjoyed spring and flowers as well as bowling with the "bowling girls". Nancy passed away Friday, February 21, 2015 at The Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at sixty-nine years of age. She is survived by her daughters, Marla Klein, Nicole Bockman and Melissa Osler; grandchildren, Alexis, Brooke and Jayce; mother, Bonnie Jensen; brothers, Mike Vance, Bob Varner, Ron Varner and Rick Varner; other family, several nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, John; an infant child; brothers, Terry Varner, Doug Varner, George Jr. Varner and Mike Varner and sisters, Dorthy Wright, Delores LeGrange and Barb Karr.
