Nancy Peterson

Nancy Jean Peterson was born February 27, 1948 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Edgar (Mike) Peterson and Gladys Peterson.  She died on September 14, 2023 in Lake Park, Iowa at the age of 75. Graveside services will be held at a later time at Rosehill Cemetery in Rockwell City, Iowa.

Nancy grew up on a farm in Greenfield Township,  Calhoun County, Iowa and lived there until she was a Freshman in high school at which time her family moved to Rockwell City. Nancy graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1966 and from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa in 1970. She worked for a time for the Iowa Department of the Blind in Des Moines.

Nancy lived at Sunnyview Retirement Community in Rockwell City. While there she was an active member of the Sac City Chapter of the DAR. Nancy later moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa and had been a resident of the Aspire nursing home in Lake Park, Iowa, since 2018.

Nancy is survived by her sisters Michele (Dick) Eberhart of Bluffton, SC; Katherine (Ken) of Grapevine, TX; and Claudia Gail Reed of Farmington, CT ; two nephews and three nieces as well as eight great-nieces and nephews and many cousins and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar (Mike) Peterson and Gladys Wilson Peterson.
