A funeral service for Norma Lev, 89, of Lake Park, Iowa will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park, Iowa. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service and will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Norma Lev was born on November 28, 1926 in Lake Park, Iowa to Emil and Emma (Lage) Wunder. Norma graduated from Lake Park High School. On December 19, 1947, Norma was married to Cecil Lev and to this union four children were born: Ron, Sharlene, John, and Karen. Cecil and Norma farmed in the Lake Park area for many years and moved to town in 1975.
Besides working on the farm, Norma worked at Berkley, Stevensons, The Villa, and several years as Lake Park librarian. She was also a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Throughout her life, Norma enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing cards, gardening, her flowers, shopping, dancing, cooking and baking. One of her biggest joys was spending time with family.
Norma passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Lake Park Care Center at the age of eighty-nine.
Surviving Norma are her husband, Cecil; children, Sharlene Eckard (Russ) of Okoboji, Iowa, John Lev (Rebecca) of Lake Park, Iowa, Karen Hanbury (Paul) of Worthington, Minnesota, and daughter-in-law, Denise Lev of Lake Park, Iowa. Grandchildren Neal Houge, Nick Houge, Shawna Hamm, Jacob Lev, Mike Eckard, and Adam Eckard, along with great grandchildren Caden Houge, Kathryn Houge, Jaxson Eckard, Aspen Eckard, Jayden Eckard, Cece Eckard, Kayla Hartman, Emma Hamm, and Gracie Hamm; brother and sister-in-laws Donnie and Patty Svoboda, Donnie and Dianne Palmer, Dick and Donna Lev, Betty Lev, Evonne Place, and Bonnie Wunder along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ron Lev, her parents Emil and Emma (Lage) Wunder, and three brothers, Harvey, Walter and Herbert Wunder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lake Park Library or First Presbyterian Church of Lake Park in Norma's name.
