A Funeral Service for Orville Belken, age 88, of Milford will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:30am at Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church in Milford. Burial will be in the Milford Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am at the church on Tuesday.
Orville passed away on June 24, 2023 at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake.
Orville Dean Belken was born on January 27, 1935 to Glenn and Lillie Belken in Spirit Lake. They lived east of Spirit Lake until 1946 when they moved to a farm in Ocheyedan. Orville graduated from Ocheyedan High School. He then attended Worthington Jr. College.
On March 19, 1955, he married Bonnie Block. They moved to Paton where Bonnie held a teaching job and Orville worked on a farm. In June of 1955 they moved to Sibley where Orville worked for Sibley Glass Company for two years. He was then transferred to be a sales person for Spencer/Sibley Glass Company. In April of 1965 he purchased Northwest Improvement Company and changed the name to Northwest Glass Company. He had a total of 53 years in the glass business and loved every one.
Orville is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Kevin; daughter, Deb (Terry) Nissen; grandchildren: Candace (Travis) McGuire, Alicia Nissen, Stacey (Daryl) Boswell; great-grandchildren: Kadence and Cooper Boswell; Ella and Jada McGuire; many friends as well as extended family.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Chet and son-in- law, Terry Nissen.
