October 31, 1945 — April 20, 2015

A Memorial Gathering and Prayer Service for Patricia Crandall, 69, of Milford, will be held Sunday, May, 31, 2015 from 4:00-6:00pm in the Luther Rose Prayer Garden at the First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji with the Prayer Service starting at 4:30. The service will be a gathering of friends, memories and music. Patricia Irene Crandall, the daughter of Laura (Lagergren) and James Crandall was born October 31, 1945, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Pat enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in Monticello, Minnesota. She often spoke of accompanying her dad on his early morning milk route through the town. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1962 at the age of sixteen and matriculated at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1966 with a BA Degree in French and English. Pat taught French in Neenah, Wisconsin, four years before accepting a teaching position in the Milford Community School System in 1970. Many students walked through her classroom door to learn grammar, writing and literature appreciation, especially her favorite, The Great Gatsby, during her thirty-one year tenure before retiring in 2001. Pat also attended nearly every school sporting event along with the cheerleaders whom she sponsored. During her retirement, Pat worked in retail, enjoyed needle work, reading, computer games, traveling, watching sporting events and walking her dog. Pat passed away at the Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park, Iowa, on April 19, 2015, at the age of sixty-nine. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; stepfather, Archie McCraken; sister, Diane Thomas; and stepbrother, Michael McCraken. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and many friends and former students who will cherish her memory.
