Patricia Larson

A memorial service for Patricia Larson, 95, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Ledyard, IA, will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. A graveside service took place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Riverview Cemetery in Elmore, MN. 

Patricia Jean Farrow was born March 16, 1929 in a rural farmhouse near Trimont, Minnesota. She was the oldest of four children born to Gurney Farrow and Alice (Krosch) Farrow.

She attended school and graduated from Ledyard Community School in 1947. After graduating she worked as a teller at the State Bank of Ledyard. She met Eldon Larson of Thompson, Iowa while rollerskating and the two fell in love. They were wed on January 14,1954. The couple bought a farm near Ledyard and began farming and raising livestock. After a few years, they began a family with the addition of eldest son, Steven followed by Morris, then Sandra and last, but not least, Tammy in 1972. The couple were members of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore.

Patricia could always be found on a tractor during spring field work and operating the harvest equipment in the fall until their children became old enough to help. She spent much of her summers gardening in one of her many gardens and later canning and packaging the fruits and vegetables of her labors. As the weather turned cooler, she could be found enjoying her many hobbies. She loved quilting and sewing and made many quilts, blankets as well as clothing.

Patricia passed away March 8, 2025 at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

She is survived by her four children, Steven Larson of Ames, IA, Morris (Stephanie) Larson of Huxley, IA, Sandra Willis of Plymouth, MN, and Tammy (Dennis) Avery of Spirit Lake, IA; her five grandchildren, Cody, Cyndi, Dylan, Brianna, and Levi; sister, Allaire jutting of Ankeny, IA and sister-in-law, Maxine Larson of Thompson, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Larson; her parents, Gurney and Alice Farrow; her sister, Audrey and brother, Leon.
