Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia "Patty" Lynch, 79, of Spirit Lake, will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Interment will be at Okoboji Cemetery in Arnolds Park. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2018, with the family present from 5-7 pm, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Patricia "Patty" Jean Lynch was born on May 21, 1939 in Rock Island, Illinois to Lawrence M. and Hughla (Aldredge) Rogers. She grew up in Davenport, Iowa and was educated at Holy Family Elementary School, JB Young Jr. High School and Davenport Central High School. She moved to Arnolds Park in 1960. In 1965, she married Lyle Edward "Pat" Lynch. Over the next few years, she and Pat owned and operated Pat's Hilltop Lounge in Arnolds Park. After Pat passed away, she worked at Vern & Coila's Club for a number of years. In 1985, she was hired as a dispatcher for the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department, where she worked until her retirement in 2003. In her spare time, Patty enjoyed reading books on her kindle, playing bridge, bingo, going to the casino, her computer, Netflix, baking, cooking and traveling with her special friend "Jarrod", especially their Sunday trips to the Olive Garden. She loved her time with her family and grandchildren and visiting with her large extended family. She was also elected to the Arnolds Park School Board in 1983, served on the Arnolds Park Parks Commission, was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and hosted the local Muscular Dystrophy Labor Day Telethon in her home for two years. Patty passed away October 27, 2018 at Pearl Valley Care Center in Lake Park, Iowa at seventy-nine years of age. She is survived by three sons, Dan Rogers (Fawn) of Spirit Lake, IA, Lyle E. Lynch III of New Berlin, WI and Hugh Lynch (Renae) of Highland Ranch, CO; special friends, Jarrod Fischer of Wallingford and Diane Reason of Spirit Lake; four granddaughters, Megan Lynch Jones (Dalston) of Carlisle, IA, Madeline Lynch of Omaha, NE, Olivia Lynch (Anthony Valdez) of Omaha, NE and Payton Lynch of Highland Ranch, CO; two great-granddaughters, Finley Moe Jones and Ila Rose Valdez; brother, Mike Rogers (Donna) of Mason City, IA; sister, Madeline Murray (Mel) of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Kathy Rogers of Spirit Lake, IA; nine nieces and nephews, Shelly Langel, Toni Marie Rogers, Sandra Rogers, Mike Felton, Greg Pick, Cindy Behrens, Chris Courtney, Doug Rogers and Margo Neel; also many cousins. Patty was preceded in death by her husband, "Pat"; son, Timothy Lynch; her parents, Lawrence and Hughla; sister, Jenny Pick; brother, Tony Rogers and step-father, Carl Kenison.
