Phyllis Lampe

Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Lampe, 89, of Spirit Lake, will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 25, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin at 5 pm Friday, July 24, 2015, with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at St. Margaret's Catholic Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Phyllis Virginia (Murphy) Lampe was born on January 10, 1926 at Wolf Point, Montana to Phillip and Blanche (Heser) Murphy. She was baptized at Immaculate Catholic Church in Wolf Point, on January 31, 1926. On June 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Norbert Lampe. From 1954 to 1969, the couple owned and operated Lampe Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Ashton, Iowa. They moved to Spirit Lake in 1969. Phyllis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. She enjoyed gardening and playing BINGO. Until very recently, Phyllis played the piano for the American Legion Auxiliary of Spirit Lake. Phyllis died at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home in Spirit Lake at eighty-nine years of age. Phyllis is survived by her children Virginia Huss of Ashton, Robert (Cheryl) Lampe of Pocahontas and Keith (Sherry) Lampe of Lake City, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Norbert.
