Richard D. Morris

No formal services are planned for Richard D. Morris, age 87, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Minneapolis and Milford. Richard Dean Morris was born April 15, 1930, the son of Sherman and Verna Morris in Popejoy, Iowa. Richard attended Estherville Community School where he graduated high school. Richard enlisted in the US Army in 1951, where he was a Corporal as a Medic until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1952. Richard worked as a Tool and Die Maker in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Upon retirement, Richard moved to Denver, Colorado, until moving to the Lakes area in 1993, to be closer to family. He traveled and toured in the United States, as well as many countries overseas. He loved camping and fishing and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Richard passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Accura Care Center in Spirit Lake at eighty-seven years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Verda Woodley, brothers, Irvin Morris and Russell Morris. Left to survive are his nieces and nephews, Marilyn Woodley, Wayne Woodley, Kathy Woodley, Debbie Woodley and Rick Woodley.
