Celebration of Life for Rita Wendelsdorf, age 59, of rural Everly, Iowa will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at The Okoboji Barn.

Rita Marie Wendelsdorf, the daughter of John and Ruth (Knephoff) Anderson, was born on March 3, 1962, in Spencer, Iowa. Growing up, Rita attended grade school and high school in Terril. She later attended San Joaquin Delta College and Iowa Lakes Community College.

Throughout her working career, she held numerous bookkeeping jobs.

Rita lived most of her life in Iowa (Milford, Terril, Everly, Fostoria) and some time in Stockton, California.

On May 26, 2000, Rita was united in marriage to Jamie Wendelsdorf in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Rita was always active with her children roller skating, bowling, and boating. Later in life, Rita was always happiest when playing with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved being outdoors walking around barefoot, working on the farm and in her garden. She also spent time crocheting many memorable gifts.

Rita passed on June 15, 2021 at her home in rural Everly.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jamie Wendelsdorf; siblings: Doug Anderson, Duane Anderson, Linda Williams, Donnie Knephoff, Sharon Matthews, Linda Cushing, Sharon Barnett, and Steve Anderson; her children: Jonathan Brown, Gary Brown, Sara Brown, and Michelle McAlpine; seven grandchildren: Kirra, Eva, Alexander, Ava, Leah, Laurie, and Logan; extended family and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by Don and Ruth Knephoff, John Anderson, and her nephews: Byron Anderson, Kenneth Graves, and Eric Williams.
