Rob Schwarting

January 25, 1967 — August 10, 2018

A Celebration of Life gathering for Rob Schwarting, age 51, of Arnolds Park, will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 1:00-5:00pm at Gull Point State Park with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 4:30pm. Robert "Rob-o" Lee Schwarting, the son of Jacqueline Fox and Gary Schwarting, was born January 25, 1967 in Worthington, Minnesota. The family moved to Spirit Lake when he was five, where Rob was raised and finished high school. His first job at the age of twelve was at Jim's Mobile and he then went on to be a cook, bartender and a machinist at Rosenbooms. Rob had many interests including gaming, cooking, history, reading and fishing. He enjoyed collecting coins, Native American decor, wolf memorabilia and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. He especially enjoyed dinners with his mom and family. He had a great sense of humor, an infectious smile and big heart. Rob's final gift to others was that of being an organ donor. His light will continue to shine through; and he will be remembered as a guy who would be there for a friend in need. Rob followed the Wiccan religion and his belief was that the Divine spirit lives within people, animals, trees, water, rock and other life forms. Today we honor Rob and his beliefs in a place surrounded by friends and nature. Rob passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home in Arnolds Park at fifty-one years of age. He is survived by his mom, Jackie Fox; sister, Sue Laue; niece, Kali Laue; grand-nieces, Carlee and Trinity; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends who will cherish his memory. Rob was preceded in death by his father, Gary Schwarting and his grandparents.
